A University of Maryland-Baltimore County police officer was charged with multiple counts of arson after a series of four fires on campus since December, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office. A Baltimore County grand jury on Monday indicted Walter T. Christopher, 36, on 12 counts, including second-degree arson, second-degree malicious burning and malicious destruction of property while he was on duty as a campus police officer, investigators said.
