On Wednesday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was grilled at his annual Super Bowl news conference on two hot topics that have put the league under heavy scrutiny: racism and discrimination in hiring.
“We won’t tolerate racism. We won’t tolerate discrimination,” Goodell said.
The league faces a lawsuit filed by a former head coach that alleges systemic racism and discrimination in its hiring practices.
Goodell said the league is not doing enough to combat racism, adding that it’s fallen short by a “long shot.”
7News reached out to former NFL defensive back John Booty to hear what he thinks about the “state of the league.”
